Module 1: Get Your Week Under Control•Lesson 2 of 5
Most of the stress you feel is not the work itself. It is the effort of remembering the work: the permission slip, the gallery entry form, the dentist call, the canvas order. Your brain keeps replaying that list all day, and it leaves no room for painting.
A brain dump moves the list out of your head and onto the screen. ChatGPT is very good at the next part, which is sorting a long, jumbled list and turning it into steps. You make the decisions. ChatGPT does the organizing.
Module 1: Get Your Week Under Control
Set a timer for ten minutes. Open a new chat in ChatGPT, or grab a notepad if you think better on paper. Now write down everything that is on your mind. Do not sort it. Do not worry about spelling. Just keep going until the timer runs out.
If you get stuck, walk through these areas one at a time:
A messy list is a good list. Twenty-five to forty items is normal for a busy week.
Wrote it on paper? You can type it into ChatGPT, or take a photo of the page and upload it with the + button. ChatGPT can read clear handwriting.
Paste this into a new chat, then add your list where it says to. Keep the list messy. ChatGPT will sort it later.
Your answers are saved on this device only, so you do not have to retype them in later lessons.
Now ChatGPT sorts your list. Every item lands in one of three piles. You get the final say on every one.
Only you can do it, and it has a real deadline or a real cost if it slips. Keep this pile short.
Someone else could do it: a partner, an older child, a carpool parent, a store's delivery service, or ChatGPT itself.
It would be nice, but nothing bad happens if it waits a month or never happens. Letting these go is a skill.
ChatGPT will guess which pile each item belongs in. Read its guesses with a critical eye. It does not know that your mother-in-law is visiting Thursday or that the gallery owner prefers a phone call. Move items around until the piles feel right to you.
Use this in the same chat, right after your brain dump.
Your answers are saved on this device only, so you do not have to retype them in later lessons.
Use this if your Must Do pile is still too long.

A sorted list is helpful. A plan that fits your actual days is what changes your week.
ChatGPT can only plan around what it knows. Before you ask for a plan, give it the shape of your week: work hours, school drop-off and pick-up, practices, church, and when you are simply too tired to do anything useful.
If you built your family calendar in the last lesson, you can copy this week’s events and paste them in.
If the plan ChatGPT gives you feels too full, say so. Ask it to lighten the busiest day or move something to next week. A plan you can follow beats a perfect plan every time.
Fill in your schedule, then paste this into the same chat.

Use this to ask for help without the awkward part.
You do not need a full brain dump every day. Once your plan is in place, a quick reset keeps it working.
Any time you feel the list building up in your head again, open the same chat from this lesson and type what has changed. A new school form, a cancelled practice, a commission request. ChatGPT remembers the plan from earlier in that chat and can adjust it.
Tip: rename the chat so you can find it again. Hover over the chat in the sidebar (or press and hold it on your phone), choose Rename, and call it something like Weekly Plan. In Module 2 you will move this into a ChatGPT Project so everything stays together.
Use this in the same chat whenever your week changes.

After the Build My Week prompt, your answer should look something like this. Yours will have your own tasks and days.
Monday
Must Do: Sign the field trip form. Email the gallery your two entry photos.
Painting: 30 minutes after pick-up.
Hand off: Mike picks up the dry cleaning.
Tuesday (busy day)
Must Do: Band until 7.
Open time: Leave the evening free.
If yours looks close to this, you are done with the hard part.
Pick a quiet ten minutes, maybe while the coffee brews. Empty your head, sort the list, and build this week’s plan. Then rename the chat Weekly Plan so you can find it for your next reset.
